Ryan Adams ruins TBY meetup

Were you in Kansas City this past weekend? If you weren’t, you missed out on one of the largest gatherings of TBY members to date. Members came from as far as Canada and California to celebrate what is known as the best fan forum on the net. Oh yeah, there was also a Ryan Adams concert in town that night.

The night started slowly as the fans got to know who was who. Real names were shared upon meeting, but board names were to be used for the remainder of the night. Eventually everyone found their seats, and all were stoked for what that night’s show was set to bring.

This is where the night took a sudden turn for the worse. As soon as the lights went down, the night slowed to a crawl. No one really knows what happened. The music was dull, the set was short and people began to question why they were there. One fan reported almost falling asleep mid show while listening to a fan seated behind her cite passages from the lead singer’s book of poetry. Another set of fans were continuously berated for standing on their feet in the middle of a concert. Everyone’s worst nightmare was happening before their very eyes.

Now these problems could be excused as the band having an off night, the lead singer being deaf or there being a lack of a decent song on the last two albums, but there is one thing that cannot be excused. During this lackluster performance, one of the members of the band took it upon himself to taunt the crowd. Mid show, lead guitarist, Neal Casal, had the gall to take time out of the show to squeeze in his work out routine. This man actually thought that these members of TBY paid good money to see him perform leg lunges across the stage. The man has no shame.

There was absolutely no way the night could be saved. The TBY Meetup was official ruined. Everyone went their own separate way, and vowed to never speak of this night again nor will another TBY Meetup be planned.

Thanks Ryan.
